Jele Island Cup – Play The Conquest Format!

Long-time TESL player and streamer Jele77 is organizing the Jele Island Cup, a monthly tournament series focused on the conquest format. The Jele Island Cup takes place every first Saturday in a month. You can register for tournaments at Jele Island on Battlefy.
The winner takes home 60 packs as a prize. The next round, Jele Island Cup #3, will take place on November 2nd, 3 pm CET / 10 am EST. The broadcast will start 30 minutes later on www.twitch.tv/jele77. It will undoubtedly feature extra spicy line-ups involving the new Jaws of Oblivion cards. For this particular tournament, all cards that say invade on it will be banned. The reasoning is, that the tournament is a monthly tournament and the invade combo deck will be adressed soon. Therefore, Jele rather wants to show a meta of variety in her tournament. Here is her full announcement on reddit.
The Conquest Format
In the conquest format, each combatant brings three decks, each one from a different class. The player who wins with two different decks first, moves on in their bracket. What’s more special: in Jele Island Cup, there are no bans by the opponent.
Thus, to begin playing a round, each player chooses one of their decks to battle the opponent with, while the deck choice is hidden from their opponent. After both have picked their preferred deck, they play out the games with the following rules:
- Any deck that wins a game cannot be played again, and another deck must be chosen to play the next game.
- Any deck that is defeated may be played again in the next game.
Moving forward, Jele is changing the tournament format to single-elimination, as there were too many matches with too many players. If, however, the number of registered players is below 8, the Jele Island Cup will continue to employ the double-elimination format.
