Unlocking The Lich Title – Seasparrow’s Undead Sorcerer – BWG Weekly Deck
In this edition of the BWG Weekly Deck, the guild has been voting on decks to earn the The Lich title from Moons of Elsweyr. To unlock the title you will need to summon 2,000 Undead. Along with it comes the amazing Lich premium card back as well.

There have been many great submissions and the winning deck is Seasparrow’s Undead Sorcerer deck. The deck has been heavily tailored into the undead theme to earn the title The Lich and was made with an incomplete collection (see a few possible improvements at the end).

The Lich Title – Seasparrow’s Undead Scorcerer – The Game Plan
The game plan is simple. First, you establish control of the field lane. You can achieve this in many ways, but your main tools are Deadly Draugr and Wandering Skeleton. Both are extremely efficient at controlling the board. Keep dominating the board until you get to a point where you have a two turn lethal. Typically, this will involve our finisher Bone Collossus who gives +1/+1 to all skeletons in play.
Icy Shambles Haunting Spirit
If your opponent decides to go through the shadow lane, skeletons naturally have a lot of ways to deal with threats in the shadows, such as Grave Grasp, Haunting Spirit or Icy Shambles.
The Mulligan
Lethal Draugr Wandering Skeleton Barrow Stalker
You need to aggressively mulligan for either Deadly Draugr, Wandering Skeleton or Barrow Stalker. They will control the field lane for you and of course count towards the Lich title.
Notable Cards
The deck can do some sneaky tricks. When you have established a good board presence Skeleton Champion will help to buff your army of the undead. If you are falling behind, Vastarie can fill an entire lane with threats. Bone Colossus basically does both – filling a lane and buffing your creatures. Hallowed Deathpriest can be useful when games take longer and your control opponent is close to out-valuing you.
More tricks? Odirniran Necromancer is a natural inclusion as he can bring back Icy Shambles, Vastarie and even Deadly Draugr or Dark Guardian.
Wake the Dead is a great tutor that you can use almost any of your creatures to hand. Our favorite is Wispmother followed by a slay of the Ancestral Dead or a Soul Split on turn 10. She also loves to join forces with Vastarie and Bone Colossus obviously. However, if you are at 6 magicka (or 5 with the ring) and you dominate the board you can always get Skeleton Champion to do a push for lethal or get more of your creatures out of Ice Storm range. It’s a pretty fun combo that can surprise your control opponent!
Summary – Unlocking The Lich Title
This deck (as is) suffers in more aggressive matchups, but has tools to deal with a lot of mid-game threats. You may want to add a third copy of Grave Grasp to deal with threats in the shadow lane a little bit more consistently. In addition, a third copy of Skeleton Champion provides more consistency to be buffing your creatures. You can remove Mannimarco if you own a third Skeleton Champion.
Overall this is a fun deck that many of us have played in casual to unlock the Lich title quickly! We hope you enjoy it, too!
